We are seeking a strategic and people-focused Product Design Manager to lead, coach, and grow a team of talented designers. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our platform by guiding your team through the design of user-centric, high-impact product experiences. In addition to design team management, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and research leadership to align design strategy with business goals.
What you will do
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage a team of product designers, providing coaching, career growth support, and performance feedback.
- Design Strategy: Partner with cross-functional leadership to define and communicate the design vision and roadmap for your product areas.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of design work while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement: Drive improvements in team workflows, collaboration practices, and design operations.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape product strategy and ensure design is grounded in user needs and business goals.
- AI-Enhanced Design Leadership: Encourage the adoption of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Bolt.new) across your team to accelerate ideation, streamline research, and improve design velocity.
- Design System Integration: Ensure your team contributes to and leverages the Phenom Design System to maintain consistency and efficiency.
What you’ve done
- 7+ years of experience in product design, including at least 2 years managing designers.
- Strong design portfolio and track record of delivering successful digital products.
- Demonstrated leadership in coaching designers and building high-performing teams.
- Experience working in agile product development environments.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Lovable, Bolt.new, n8n, Make, Base44 etc. for prototyping and rapid iteration.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
- Strong understanding of design systems and component-based design.
