Role Overview:

We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to guide our engineering efforts, ensuring our technology sets high standards in the industry. This role involves leading our engineering processes, mentoring engineers, and enhancing our software design and architecture.

What You'll Do at Siena:

  • Lead the engineering process from conception to deployment.

  • Lead software design and architectural decisions.

  • Collaborate with Product and Design to define project requirements and goals.

  • Meet customers to gather requirements and translate into product roadmaps.

  • Manage cycle planning and delivery, estimation, engineering resource allocation.

  • Conduct code reviews and manage releases.

  • Mentor engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture of growth and high performance.

  • Develop solutions for ambiguous problems, collaborating with Product, Design, and Customer Success.

  • Develop using NodeJS, Typescript, and Express, and work within the AWS ecosystem.

  • Apply your experience with Postgres and CI/CD tools to improve our engineering practices.

Who You Are:

  • You have at least 5 years of engineering experience, with leadership experience.

  • You have a strong background in software architecture.

  • You have experience in mentoring and developing engineering talent.

  • You communicate complex ideas effectively and align team efforts.

  • You're experienced with agile methodologies and committed to continuous improvement.

  • You're familiar with backend development in NodeJS, Typescript, Express, and AWS services.

  • You have experience with Postgres and CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with remote or distributed teams.

  • Involvement in open-source or personal projects.

  • Knowledge of LLMs, AI or machine learning.
