We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be a highly driven self-starter who is able to work in a challenging yet rewarding, fast paced environment. Role Responsibilities:
Responsible for the closing process for a multi-tier consolidated group of companies and global subsidiaries which includes reviewing and booking journal entries, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, corporate consolidation and intercompany, flux analysis, preparation of financial statements and maintaining accurate records of archived accounting information.
Manage and direct the daily operation related to general ledger management, accounts payable, T&E, credit card management, fixed assets, intercompany, reconciliation, controls, and related systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Bill.com, Expensify, Banking). Analytical review of all entity's financial information ensuring transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting and reporting policies and procedures.
Prepare and deliver timely and accurate investor reporting.
Assist the Controller with tax compliance related to applicable statutory requirements, including but not limited to 1099 reporting, federal, state, and local income, real and personal property, franchise, value-added, sales and use and other taxes in all jurisdictions in which the Company operates.
Lead the accounting team to a successful completion of external financial audits and regulatory reporting, including timely preparation of workpapers, financial statements, and footnotes and establishing and monitoring GAAP compliance with company policies and procedures.
Drive business process improvements while maintaining clarity & accuracy.
Foster a culture of trust and productivity by managing the performance and development of junior team members through mentoring and coaching.
Execute quarterly debt compliance by tracking and monitoring loan requirements, submitting level draws to banks for funding as required, and reporting.
Key contributor to ERP system conversion from QuickBooks to NetSuite.
Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned and required of the business.
Support Controller in all financial matters of the organization.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, CPA a plus.
10+ years progressive accounting experience (Fast-paced, high-growth SaaS, PE backed a plus).
3+ years experience managing a team and must be comfortable and excel in leading others.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial analysis, and internal control requirements with the ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues.
Strong problem solving, analytical, planning, and communication skills.
Organize, prioritize, and complete several tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work with little supervision, exercise good judgment and take ownership.
Flexible, dynamic, hard-working, and able to pivot direction quickly to keep up with business demands.
Experience in ERP implementation, NetSuite a plus
Proficient in Excel and Google Suite; Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Bill.com, and Expensify preferred.
