23andMe is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Genomic Health team as a Genomic Health Associate. We offer an exciting opportunity to implement and grow genomic healthcare services within the context of a primary care and prevention lens. The Genomic Health team is core to 23andMe’s healthcare vision and execution, focused on delivering industry-leading genetic insights, providing comprehensive health risk assessments, and paving the way for our customers to get and stay healthy. The Genomic Health team includes medical professionals with expertise in genetic counseling, clinical genetics, primary care, research, and public health who are dedicated to improving patient healthcare experiences and outcomes through consumer-driven genomics.

Reporting to the Director of Genomic Medicine, the Genomic Health Associate will work closely with members of the Genomic Health team and provide cross-functional support to 23andMe teams working to promote customers’ use of their genomic and personal risk data to improve their health. The Genomic Health Associate will provide medical expertise as an advisor to internal stakeholders on healthcare applications to optimize the potential of consumer-driven genomics to improve health outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Apply your clinical knowledge to support the development of new consumer-facing products and clinical services for 23andMe customers that leverage relevant technologies and provide a world-class and clinically useful experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and fully integrate clinically impactful preventive health into both the 23andMe digital health experience and 23andMe telehealth services.
  • Develop evidence-based clinical support tools and resources related to 23andMe’s health product to support the use of genetic information in patient care.
  • Serve as a internal medicine or related medical subject matter expert by staying abreast of applicable regulations, regional community standards of care, and nationally recognized guidelines.
  • Participate in Genomic Health research opportunities, including health outcomes and other research related to direct-to-consumer genetic testing.
  • Maintain professional credentials and remain in good standing with professional boards, organizations, and licensing authorities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant degree
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a clinical or clinical research environment in primary care, internal medicine, or a medicine subspecialty
  • Proven proficiency in clinical medicine and prevention counseling
  • Working knowledge of online clinical resources and databases (e.g., EPIC, UpToDate, PubMed, others)
  • Clinical research experience is preferred
  • Ability to excel as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, complex, and at times demanding, high-tech startup work environment
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, listening) skills and able to collaboratively engage with customers, patients, and colleagues
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and technology competent
  • Strong commitment to 23andMe’s core values and mission
  • Ability to work from 23andMe's office in Sunnyvale, CA three days per week.

Pay Transparency
23andMe takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for a candidate based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
San Francisco Bay Area Base Bay Range
NP: $115,000 - $154,000 USD
PA: $102,000 - $144,000 USD
