Course Hero's parent company, Learneo, is looking for a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day general ledger activities, managing the monthly close process including preparing and reviewing journal entries, overseeing balance sheet account reconciliations, and developing and mentoring our team.

This role is a hybrid position that generally meets once per week at the Redwood City HQ location (and occasionally for trainings or team events) to foster professional development, improve communications and coordination, and process improvement initiatives.

Here are some ways you’ll make an impact

  • Efficiently manage the monthly close process including ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reviewing/approving journal entries and account reconciliations and communicating results
  • Support daily operations of the accounting department, including A/P and expense platform, procedures, corporate card management, and reimbursements for our team members
  • Manage, train and mentor team members responsible for preparing and posting manual journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, flux analysis, and audit schedules
  • Own maintenance of chart of accounts and system mapping/structure for proper reporting
  • Support the preparation of close reporting packages for management and others, as needed
  • Review US GAAP consolidated financial statements, flux analysis for income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows and stockholders’ equity to ensure all results are fully reconciled and analyzed timely
  • Collaborate with key Finance partners on process improvement, creation and maintenance of policies, systems implementations/updates, etc.
  • Review and analyze international subsidiary reporting packages, along with foreign currency accounting and reporting
  • Lead the external audit as the primary interface with the Company’s external auditors
  • Build a best-in-class internal control environment at-scale, maintain process documentation, and ensure SOX 404 compliance for areas of responsibility
  • Partner with key stakeholders to resolve queries and issues
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Management

Are you our Corporate Accounting Manager?

  • 8+ years in a financial accounting role, public accounting experience strongly preferred
    • CPA license
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
    • Understanding and application of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements and financial reporting experience
    • Experience with NetSuite strongly recommended: scaling, day-to-day use, implementation, and optimizing new processes.
    • Experience in working with different legal entities and subsidiaries of a parent company in an accounting role

Bonus Points

  • Experience with procure-to-pay system (Coupa is a plus)
  • Prior user experience of either FloQast and/or other month end close management checklist

The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered an equity award, benefits, and other types of compensation.
