As Kyros continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and engaging College Admissions Instructor to lead our Essential Programs for high school students. These live, online programs help students successfully navigate key stages of the college application process, including early application deadlines and Regular Decision.

About the Role

The College Admissions Instructor will lead a structured, four- to six-week virtual program focused on college admissions and application development. The instructor will deliver engaging live lectures, facilitate student participation, review application materials, and oversee a team of teaching assistants who provide additional support and feedback.

The ideal candidate has direct experience with college admissions, counseling, or application advising and is comfortable translating complex admissions topics into clear, actionable guidance for high school students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a four- to six-week live, online college admissions program.
  • Teach students about the Early Action, Early Decision, and Regular Decision application processes.
  • Deliver clear, engaging, and interactive virtual lectures.
  • Guide students through college application timelines, requirements, and submission strategies.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on application materials, including:
  • Supplemental essays
  • Activities lists
  • Honors and awards sections
  • Additional information statements
  • Other application components
  • Help students strengthen their written materials while preserving their authentic voices.
  • Facilitate discussions, exercises, and activities that encourage student participation.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive virtual learning environment.
  • Track student attendance, participation, assignments, and overall progress.
  • Communicate expectations, deadlines, and program updates clearly to students and families.
  • Lead, train, and support a team of teaching assistants.
  • Delegate student-review assignments and ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality feedback.
  • Hold regular check-ins with teaching assistants and address questions or concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Kyros Programs team to maintain curriculum quality and improve the student experience.
  • Participate in instructor training, preparation meetings, and post-program evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in college admissions, college counseling, academic advising, secondary education, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the college application process, including early application plans and Regular Decision.
  • Experience reviewing college essays, supplemental responses, or other application materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting, teaching, facilitating workshops, or leading group instruction.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to high school students.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable using video-conferencing platforms and other online learning tools.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education, counseling, higher education, English, writing, or a related field.
  • Professional experience as a college admissions officer, school counselor, independent educational consultant, college-access professional, or application advisor.
  • Experience teaching college admissions workshops or multiweek programs.
  • Experience providing developmental feedback on student writing.
  • Familiarity with the Common Application and other major college-application platforms.
  • Experience leading, training, or supervising teaching assistants, tutors, counselors, or instructional staff.
  • Experience working with students from diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence, educational technology, or online instructional platforms.

Program and Scheduling Expectations
  • Programs typically run for four to six consecutive weeks.
  • Instruction is delivered remotely through live, scheduled sessions.
  • Instructors must be available for all assigned program sessions.
  • Additional time is required for preparation, student-material review, teaching-assistant management, and team meetings.
  • Some programs may take place during evenings or weekends to accommodate high school students’ schedules.
  • Availability during key college-application periods, particularly ahead of early and Regular Decision deadlines, is strongly preferred.
