Join the team building the ToxMod Web Console, a powerful voice moderation platform that handles millions of hours of audio per month.
Design and implement features and systems to directly support customer needs. Work closely with other engineers, Product, Design, and QA to satisfy clients that include some of the biggest names in gaming. Think through tradeoffs, resolve unknowns, prove out approaches, and support Modulate in making key decisions as we solidify our foundations and prepare for the future.
Modulate's engineering team is at an exciting inflection point, defining new standards and processes to power future growth while shipping features to a fast-growing customer base. Your skill and expertise will contribute to shaping strong engineering principles and practices for Modulate as a whole.
The salary for this position is set at $150,000/yr.

This role's responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with software engineers, designers, product managers, and QA engineers in designing and implementing features for the ToxMod Web Console
  • Design features that interact with data science and machine learning initiatives in order to give our customers insight into the stats and properties of ToxMod’s data.
  • Review code, contribute to standards and technical choices, and generally positively impact our systems and processes.
  • Implement features end-to-end, from initial design to full-stack development (frontend and backend, with focus on database interactions).
  • Ensure reliability and predictability in our planning, estimation, and execution of projects.
  • Actively share knowledge and support the growth of other engineers.
  • Align with Modulate’s operating principles and add to Modulate’s culture.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience contributing code to multi-system architectures that handle large amounts of data.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where business and product priorities may shift quickly; has skill in setting expectations while limiting chaos.
  • Experience optimizing data structures and queries in relational databases
  • Experience in HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Experience with RESTful APIs (or other modes of inter-system communication)
  • Experience with Python (or another high-level object-oriented programming language)
