Come put your game development experience to work making online games less toxic and more inclusive! Write code used by some of the largest studios in the gaming industry to process millions of hours of audio every month. Design and build integrations that enable more games to protect their communities. Develop using the latest technology in gaming consoles, VR headsets, mobile phones and PCs. Collaborate closely with our other engineers as well as our QA engineers and account managers.
Modulate’s engineering team is at an exciting inflection point. We have proven that our tech works in major titles and now we are working to ensure that it’s easy to use in any title. Your skills and expertise will shape our product, as well as how we scale software development at Modulate.
The salary for this position is set at $150,000/yr.

You could expect to be responsible for:

  • Developing new features for our game engine plugins which integrate our C++ SDKs into popular game engines
  • Expanding our plugin support to new game engines, voice chat frameworks, and platforms
  • Applying your knowledge of game industry conventions and best practices to make our plugins feel familiar and easy to use for game developers
  • Collaborating with domain experts in machine learning and real time audio programming to bring research algorithms into production
  • Peer reviewing designs and code with the other engineers on the team

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience building in at least one major game engine
  • Experience working at a game studio OR shipping a finished game on your own
  • Ability to learn new technical skills/languages/frameworks without formal instruction

Nice to have:

  • Experience programming in Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Experience developing for game consoles
  • Experience working at at a larger game studio or game engine developer
  • Experience with low-level audio programming
  • Experience with machine learning, particularly around inference or optimization
  • Interest in working directly with customers to support integrations
  • Interest in both novel feature development AND exploration of new environments and platforms
