About the Opportunity
Paro is recruiting on behalf of Eco-Tax, a growing Brooklyn CPA firm with more than 40 team members. We’re seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager to lead client accounting engagements, develop staff, and strengthen the processes that support quality service and profitable growth.
You’ll work directly with the owner and have meaningful input into how the practice operates. This is an opportunity for a hands-on public accounting professional who enjoys managing client relationships, coaching a team, and making accounting operations run more effectively.
Your initial focus will be strengthening staff coaching and performance reviews, establishing consistent engagement budget reviews, and keeping client scope and fees aligned with the work delivered.
What You’ll Do
- Lead client accounting services: Oversee bookkeeping, full-cycle accounting, and financial reporting engagements. Review work for accuracy, resolve technical issues, and provide hands-on accounting or advisory support when needed.
- Develop and support the team: Manage assignments, workloads, and priorities. Coach staff, establish regular performance reviews, and identify training needs.
- Manage engagement performance: Review budgets, actual hours, labor costs, and margins. Identify the causes of overruns and turn findings into practical improvements.
- Build client relationships: Communicate expectations, address service concerns, and coordinate with tax professionals to deliver consistent support.
- Keep scope and pricing aligned: Help develop proposals, estimate staffing and delivery needs, and address additional services or recurring scope changes with clients.
- Improve workflows and systems: Support the adoption of Canopy, automation, and appropriate AI tools to improve efficiency while maintaining accounting quality and review standards.

- Active CPA license.
- Progressive public accounting experience, including staff supervision and client engagement management.
- Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle and experience overseeing client accounting services and financial reporting.
- Experience managing engagement budgets, reviewing work, and improving delivery efficiency.
- Ability to coach staff and communicate clearly with clients and leadership.
- Tax knowledge and experience coordinating accounting and tax services.
- Sound business judgment and a practical approach to resolving operational issues.
- Ability to work onsite in Brooklyn five days per week.
Helpful Experience

- QuickBooks Online, Canopy, and Lacerte.
- Accounting proposals, scope management, and client pricing discussions.
- Workflow improvements, practice management implementations, or accounting automation.
- Controller or advisory services for growing businesses.
Compensation and Benefits
- Target base salary of approximately $140,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
- Potential performance incentives tied to operational improvements and financial results; structure to be agreed.
- Employer contribution toward 50% of employee-only health insurance premiums.
- Eligibility after one year for an employer-funded 401(k) profit-sharing contribution, currently approximately 3% of salary, subject to plan terms.
