Phenom People is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our IT & Security team as a Security Engineer (Fresher / Entry-Level). This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates passionate about cybersecurity and eager to build a career in protecting enterprise systems, applications, and data.


As a Security Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience in security operations, internal audits, Digital Employee Experience (DEX) assessments, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO, FedRAMP, and GRC. This full-time role is based at our headquarters in Ambler, PA.


Please note: We do not offer sponsorship for this position. You must be willing to work in a hybrid model (3 days in office) and live within a 50-mile radius of our Ambler, PA headquarters.


Job Requirements


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor security alerts, incidents, and vulnerability scans; support patching and remediation.
  • Assist with IAM (provisioning/de-provisioning, access reviews).
  • Conduct DEX audits to assess employee digital experience and compliance.
  • Act as internal auditors – run control checks, collect evidence, support SOC 2/ISO/FedRAMP.
  • Support commercial cloud and FedRAMP (inside/outside boundary) compliance checks.
  • Participate in security awareness and governance programs across IT, HR, and Finance.
  • Automate security tasks using Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills with coding experience and ability to work hands-on with tools.
  • Solid understanding of OS, networking, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC 2, NIST, FedRAMP) is a plus.
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Growth Path:

  • Year 1: Support operations, audits, automation, and compliance.
  • Year 2+: Progress into roles such as Security Analyst, GRC Specialist, or FedRAMP Engineer.

Work Experience – What You’ve Done:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Coding skills (Python, Shell, or similar).
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Exposure to compliance or auditing environments (academic or internship experience is acceptable).
  • Experience with IAM, vulnerability management, or cloud platforms a plus.

Salary:

Expected salary range: $70,000 – $90,000

(Range subject to change per Phenom’s policies.)
