The role

Zeta Global is seeking a talented and versatile Data Scientist with a passion for formalism, heuristics and algorithms as well as an understanding of software engineering to join our graph team within our highly skilled development office in Copenhagen. As a Data Scientist, you will be a key player in a challenging and dynamic developmental story where he or she will be part of a team with some of the industry's hottest talents. This is a rich opportunity to learn from others, and there is the flexibility to dive into experiments on your own. We are passionate about new solutions, technologies and algorithms, but pragmatic in our choice of solutions. Zeta Global Copenhagen is responsible for the development and deployment of the company's next identity generation technology in close collaboration with the company's other teams.

Our team in Copenhagen consists of a couple of hand picked veterans from the start-up environment as well as 30 handpicked new highly competent and focused colleagues who have joined since the end of 2016. Both the level of competence and focus is therefore very high and for that reason, many exciting tasks are constantly flowing from the rest of the organization to Copenhagen. We want to expand the team with more skilled and innovative talents and we are looking for both Data Scientists and data engineers, but prefer people with an interest in both areas of work.

About The Job

We are looking for a Data Scientist for Zeta Global Copenhagen, who can analyze issues based on data, and design, develop and maintain algorithms, reports and software solutions for LiveIntent. This person will largely be able to plan, choose and organize their own tasks, but will also be expected to work closely with the other team developers and stakeholders in the company's international product division. Our Data Scientist will be part of all stages of development, from initial sparring and exchange of ideas to prototyping, development, testing, deployment, maintenance / improvement and reporting, but with the expected focus on the first three parts. We believe in flexibility under responsibility, and our development process is therefore a loosely defined hybrid of agile methods and rapid prototyping. Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous professional experience with data analysis or software development.
  • Is interested in translating real world issues into mathematical models, mathematical statistics, and algorithms.
  • Ideally also has an interest or previous experience programming (in several languages), machine learning and / or adtech technology.
  • Has a mathematical education; such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics.
  • Has practical experience with real programming, practical and / or deep theoretical understanding of some of the following: classical statistics (hypothesis tests, confidence intervals), data mining, ETL processing, machine learning / probabilistic graphical models (e.g. * Markov logic networks or Bayesian networks), data processing in MapReduce using Hadoop / Cascading / Scalding, programming in Scala and/or Python, data reporting and ad hoc analysis in Athena, Google BigQuery or the "PyLab" suite.

Our ideal candidate attacks problems analytically and solutions pragmatically. This person is full of good ideas, able to see opportunities in other people's ideas, and can find out about ideas in a distanced and constructive way. He or she loves thinking about many issues and connecting them with data. Our ideal Data Scientist understands that finding new facets of data is more important than adjusting meta parameters to algorithms. He or she is happy to implement and optimize and is curious about new tasks.

We're looking for someone who will be excited to understand and involve themselves in the company's problem areas and can communicate in English with management and colleagues at the other Zeta Global offices. This person will be immersed in a dynamic environment where overall priorities and definitions will change over time, and therefore tasks will not always be prioritized. This person will work independently and take initiative.

We Offer

You can look forward to being a key player in a challenging and dynamic developmental story where you will be part of a team with some of the industry's hottest talents. There will be rich opportunities to learn from others, and you will have the flexibility to dive into experiments on your own. We are passionate about new solutions, technologies and algorithms, but pragmatic in our choice of solutions.

We believe in empowering our employees with autonomy and flexibility. You will have the freedom to select your preferred operating system (Linux, Mac, Windows) and development tools, with the expectation of independent maintenance and troubleshooting. We encourage the introduction of new technologies, contingent upon demonstrating their value and gaining team buy-in.

This full-time position (37 hours per week) is based at our Copenhagen office, located at Bernstorffsgade 21. A competitive benefits package is provided, including lunch, telephone/internet, and health insurance. The ideal candidate will be available to start as soon as possible.

This is a hybrid role based out of Copenhagen.
