Movandi’s Antenna team develops advanced antenna and phased-array solutions for 5G, satellite communications, and emerging wireless applications. As an Antenna Designer / Phased-Array Antenna Engineer, you will join a key team developing highly sophisticated mm-Wave antenna products and modules. You will design, simulate, integrate, and verify a range of antenna architectures—including phased arrays, reflectors, and lens antennas—from unit cells and sub-arrays to full arrays and radomes. You will drive performance to demanding targets (gain/EIRP, scan range, sidelobes, efficiency, polarization purity, isolation, and bandwidth) and validate designs using industry-standard EM tools such as ANSYS HFSS, along with RF/OTA measurement workflows in anechoic chambers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize mm-Wave antenna architectures (phased arrays, reflectors, lens antennas, and radomes) from unit cells/elements to sub-arrays/tiles and full arrays for 5G and satellite communications.
  • Define EM simulation approaches (unit-cell/periodic, finite array, embedded element patterns, coupling, edge effects) and correlate results to measurements.
  • Develop WAIM / radome concepts and quantify impact on scan loss, efficiency, and pattern quality.
  • Co-design antenna + feed network / transitions (matching, baluns, corporate feeds, coupling, grounding) to meet bandwidth and efficiency goals.
  • Work with RFIC, packaging, mechanical, and product teams on module integration (keep-outs, shielding, thermal/mechanical limits, manufacturability).
  • Support prototype builds: materials, stack-ups, tolerances, DFM/DFT, and vendor coordination.
  • Plan and run antenna measurements (OTA / far-field / near-field), define fixtures, and drive debug/root-cause analysis.
  • Deliver documentation: trade studies, simulation reports, design reviews, test plans, and release packages.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related fields with 5+ years of related professional experience.
    • (Exceptional candidates with a B.S. and strong experience will be considered.)
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Skills

  • Hands-on design of mm-Wave antenna architectures—including phased arrays, reflector antennas, lens antennas, and radomes/WAIMs—preferably in 20–40 GHz or higher.
  • Strong antenna fundamentals and system metrics: radiation mechanisms, impedance matching, polarization/axial ratio, efficiency, bandwidth, coupling, and array theory (scan, grating lobes, sidelobes, scan loss, EIRP).
  • Proficient with ANSYS HFSS simulation and optimization workflows: unit-cell/periodic setups, finite arrays, embedded element patterns, coupling/edge effects, parametric sweeps/optimization, and scripting/automation.
  • Experience co-designing antenna + feed network / transitions (corporate feeds, power dividers/combiners, baluns, matching, grounding/via strategies, mm-Wave interconnects) to meet bandwidth and efficiency goals.
  • Familiarity with Antenna-in-Package / module integration and DFM considerations: stack-up/material tradeoffs, tolerances, interconnects, shielding, and thermal/mechanical constraints.
  • Strong RF/OTA measurement experience in anechoic chambers (far-field/near-field), including test fixtures, calibration, post-processing, and simulation-to-measurement correlation/debug.
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills; effective cross-functional collaboration (RFIC, packaging, mechanical, test, manufacturing).
